Evidence Chain Payment, Credit, and Refund Policy

Effective Date: 20-11-2025

1. General Payment Terms

1.1. Payment Processor: All purchases of credits for the Evidence Chain Services are made as one-time, non-recurring purchases exclusively through the official in-app payment systems of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

1.2. Financial Data: We do not process, receive, or store any of your credit card details or financial information. This information is managed entirely by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective security and privacy policies.

2. Evidence Credits and Storage

2.1. Credit Purchase: Credits are a virtual currency used solely within the Services to pay for the long-term storage of authenticated evidence.

2.2. Credit Validity (Expiration): Unused credits purchased for the Services remain valid for a period of 3 years (36 months) from the date of purchase. Any credits remaining after this 3-year period will automatically expire and be removed from your account without a right to refund.

2.3. Storage Commitment:

  • Each piece of Content (image or video) consumes a specific number of credits upon initial storage.
  • The number of credits consumed dictates the fixed term for which that Content will be retained and verifiable on our servers.
  • If the fixed term expires, and you do not re-commit credits to renew storage, the associated Content will be deleted as detailed in the Terms of Service.

2.4. Pricing Changes:

  • The price of new credit bundles or the number of credits required to store Content may change.
  • A change will be triggered by Qualitative changes to our operational costs, such as significant changes to hosting costs or infrastructure.
  • Any change in pricing will only affect future purchases of credits and will not affect credits you have already purchased or the terms of Content you have already stored.

3. Refund Policy

3.1. General Rule: Refunds can only be given for unused credits. Refunds are not available for credits that have already been applied to store Content, even if that Content is subsequently deleted by the user or due to expiry.

3.2. Refund Process Hierarchy:

  • First Attempt (Direct): Users may contact Evidence Chain directly via support@evidencechain.org to request a refund for unused credits. We will attempt to process a direct refund if a mutual agreement can be reached on the amount and reason.
  • Second Attempt (Platform): If a direct resolution cannot be agreed upon, or if the refund request is related to an issue with the initial transaction (e.g., duplicate charge), the user must submit the refund request directly to the respective platform (Apple App Store or Google Play Store), as the original transaction was conducted through them.

3.3. App Store Policies: All refund decisions related to transactions handled by Apple or Google are subject to and managed by their respective terms and conditions, which are outside of our control.

4. Dispute Resolution

4.1. Formal Disputes: Any dispute, controversy, demand, claim, or cause of action arising out of or relating to this Payment, Credit, and Refund Policy or your use of the Services will be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration, as set forth in the Governing Law and Jurisdiction section of the Evidence Chain Terms of Service.
